About Us
The Endocrine Specialist Centre was founded in 2000 by Professor Joe Proietto, Professor Jeffrey Zajac and Dr Katherine Bate to create a specialised medical practice which focuses solely on the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with endocrine disorders or requiring endocrine therapy.

It has since grown to include more than a dozen highly experienced endocrinologists. All of the ESC doctors are leaders in their field with appointments at The University of Melbourne and The Austin Hospital. Together we cover all endocrine issues in adults including diabetes, weight management, women's and men’s health, transgender and intersex health, osteoporosis, thyroid disease and rarer endocrine disease.
